Job Overview
The GP partner is responsible for operational and strategic decision-making and management and providing medical care and services to the practice population, managing a clinical caseload and dealing with a diverse range of health needs.
Responsibilities
1. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
2. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
3. Effective management of long-term conditions
4. Processing of administration in a timely manner including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
5. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
6. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
7. Contribute to the effective management of the organisation including administration, planning, strategy etc.
8. Identify, implement and embed best practice through clinical guidelines and the audit process
9. Prepare and complete the revalidation process
10. Contribute to the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
Generic duties commensurate with any Partner including a Non-Clinical Partner
1. The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
2. Show leadership qualities, work collaboratively, ensure an even distribution of the organisation’s workload
3. Take responsibility for continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the organisation
4. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF
5. Attend and contribute effectively to organisation meetings as required
6. Represent the organisation at ICS/ICB and regional meetings
7. Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the organisation including clinical governance, training, financial management and HR
8. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
9. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the organisation’s team
10. Remain fully focused on the strategic aims of the organisation, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
11. Prepare and attend partnership meetings contributing in a positive manner
12. Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times
13. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement
