Purpose of the role
To assist with the preparation of monthly Management Accounts and annual Statutory Accounts for three business units, including maintaining financial records, assisting in reconciling Balance Sheets and ensuring that all intercompany transactions are recorded and accounts fully reconciled each month.
About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and reconciling balance sheet accounts. You will assist in maintaining and enforcing internal controls within the accounting systems and ensure accurate reconciliation of intercompany accounts with other Group companies. Additionally, you will contribute to the production of budgets and quarterly forecasts, as well as prepare statutory accounts in compliance with IFRS standards. The position involves handling VAT and Intrastat returns and collaborating with both external and internal auditors. You will also provide support to other finance team members, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and the banking team, while managing tasks such as matching receipts, reconciling GRNI accruals, and preparing monthly journal entries. This role may involve other related duties as required.
About you
You are ideally studying toward a professional accountancy qualification with a recognized accounting body, such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or an equivalent. You bring experience from a similar role, preferably within an FMCG environment, where you’ve honed skills in preparing management and statutory accounts, including reconciliations and financial analysis.
With strong numerical skills and a focus on accuracy, you excel in meeting reporting deadlines and working with a sense of urgency. Known for your proactive approach, you are a dedicated team player with excellent communication skills. You are also fully proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, equipping you to effectively manage various tasks within the finance function.
