Position: Operations Controller
Location: Norwich
Working Hours: Full-time on a rostered basis
Further to the award of a fixed minimum 5+ years offshore contract for multiple aircraft with a major energy company, Bond Helicopters is recruiting Operations Controllers for our Norwich operation. The Operations Controller will provide operations coordination in support of Bond Helicopters, ensuring safe and efficient dispatch, flight monitoring and proactive management of our daily flight schedules for our customers. This role plays a critical part in the efficient processing and planning of aircraft operations in accordance with statutory requirements and Company policy.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about aviation, responsive, hard-working and have a balanced approach to decision making. To be successful, individuals will have experience within flight planning, rotary operations and the associated regulations. The ability to work in partnership with Clients, managing their requirements and expectations whilst providing high quality service levels is essential. You will possess good knowledge of flight planning products, with experience of Vantage POB as highly advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities:
Crewing Liaison
* Liaise between passenger services/ Logistics to maximise payloads
* Advise crews of any route changes
* Advise crews of turnaround requirements
* Arrange offshore alternates as requested by flight crews
* Liaise with crews on flight times
* Consider all options available for continuation of flight before cancellation
* Discuss and agree with crew reasons for flight cancellations
* Record reasons for flight cancellations in Logs and records
* Organise personnel and equipment for Night Call-outs
* Organise Handling
Passenger Services/ Logistics Liaison
* Advise passenger services/ Logistics of route changes
* Liaise between crews and Passenger Services/ Logistics to improve payloads
* Inform Passenger Services/ Logistics of any delays or special client / passenger requirements
* Liaise with Passenger Services/ Logistics on turnaround requirements
* Acts as an interface between crew and client passengers as required.
* Monitors and resolves issues relating to compliance with clothing and baggage policies
Aircraft Movements
* Communicates planned and unplanned changes / required information including, but not limited to, necessity to use alternative destinations, congestion on heli decks, weather, fuel stops and helideck restrictions.
* Receives and interprets aviation weather for planning purposes and report to interested parties.
* Records operational data in the approved format.
* Assists in planning and rescheduling of flight programmes during backlog situations and liaise with client Planning and Logistics team to resolve service and priority issues.
* Monitor company frequency for air and ground movement information.
* Monitor any visiting A/C
* Monitor use of hot spots
Engineering Liaison
* Establish aircraft serviceability
* Provide crews for ground runs as required
* Reallocate aircraft to the flying programme
* Establish approval for rotors running turnarounds
Reporting
* Completes all required operational performance and activity reports in a timely manner
Emergency Response Procedures
* Implements procedures as required in accordance with Company Emergency Response Plans.
* Co-ordinates air support.
* Liaises with and provides advice to HMCG and emergency response organisations.
* Provides aviation advice and operational services to the nominated on scene commander
Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
Essential
* Proven flight planning and operational experience
* Experience and knowledge of Rotary Operations and associated regulations
* Experience of liaising with Clients; managing their requirements and expectations
* Logistics and Customer Service experience
* Working knowledge of flight planning products, experience of Vantage POB would be highly advantageous
* Ability to liaise with company staff and third party agencies, good interpersonal relations, empathy, humour, humility, collaborative, managing expectations, diplomacy and composure
* Able to work effectively as part of a Team, as well as individually
Advantageous
* Experience in Aviation Operations is highly desirable
* Experience in leading teams, desirable but not essential
* CAA Restricted Radio Operators Certificate would be a distinct advantage
