Head of Logistics Solutions & Transformation
Location: Hybrid – Midlands with UK travel
Remuneration: Excellent remuneration package available to include generous basic salary, bonus up to 30%, pension, car, private health
This major wholesale organisation is on a journey to transform its UK logistics, supply chain, warehousing and last-mile operations, as part of its wider strategy to deliver the ultimate customer experience. As this transformation gathers pace, they are now looking to appoint a Head of Network Solutions & Transformation. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, you’ll drive operational growth and the delivery of strategic objectives through the concept, design and implementation of key network change.
Key accountabilities and measures:
1. Optimise the logistics footprint across the business, leading the design and successful implementation of network changes.
2. Support the development of innovative and efficient last-mile concepts and instrumental in building the strategic road map and design of the network and supply chain.
3. Identify and support the implementation of tools to enhance existing warehouse operations.
4. Develop robust and commercially optimised logistics solutions to support future growth and lead on strategic network development.
5. Incorporate cross-industry logistics best practice and innovation.
6. Actively contribute as part of the operations senior leadership team, including the annual budgeting process.
7. Develop, challenge, and align Operations quarterly KVD road maps.
8. Support the development of and decision-making around Supply Chain Management IT requirements.
9. Support the development and prioritisation of the capex plan within the Supply Chain environment.
10. Manage internal and external partners and resources (consultants, service providers), ensuring compliance with internal governance processes.
What you’ll need to succeed:
1. The ideal candidate for this role will have extensive experience and knowledge of logistics, supply chain and warehousing modelling and optimisation, as well as having led large-scale change programmes across multi-sector logistics operations.
2. Deep knowledge of transformation methodologies and frameworks – Lean, Six Sigma, Agile.
3. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills – able to communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
4. Expert knowledge of the latest logistics developments and solutions including technology / automation.
5. Knowledge of change management principles and practices.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities – solutions-focused with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
7. Able to confidently develop and implement strategic plans.
8. Excellent presentation skills.
9. Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
