Role Summary
We seek an experienced Procurement individual who is highly motivated and self-driven to:
1. Lead sourcing activities and negotiations for low to high value aerospace and industrial type components to optimize cost opportunities, contract coverage, and secure supply continuity.
2. Undertake contractual and price negotiations with new and existing suppliers to mitigate commercial risk and optimize commercial advantage for current and future programmes.
3. Carry out in-depth cost breakdown analysis (including cost estimation) and negotiate the lowest TCA in order to contribute to the divisional cost saving targets.
4. Drive cost reduction and resourcing programmes to support strategy execution ensuring impact on existing supply chains are managed.
5. Develop and deliver robust and integrated Commodity and Supplier strategies to provide supply chains capable of meeting business needs across all stakeholder areas.
6. Ensure close cooperation with internal customers to ensure customer care and early involvement.
7. Integrate Procurement in the project management process and organize, control, and monitor all Procurement activities in a project.
8. Participate in project/sales meetings as a project core team member to exert a shaping influence at an early stage and to optimize internal workflows and processes.
9. Establish proper sourcing and Procurement processes and control all Procurement resources and activities in the project.
10. Analyze customer inquiries during bid preparation/opportunity management phases and understand the customer's functional needs in order to include (supplier) innovations.
11. Support project calculation with reliable material cost data.
12. Analyze scope of supply and contract agreements, carry out risk analyses, and introduce negotiation recommendations.
13. Analyze sales and operations planning in respect of starting/new projects, assessing and controlling material costs within the whole project business to ensure the involvement of Procurement.
14. Drive Procurement strategies in projects and ensure their implementation.
15. Head up contractual and price negotiations and/or support the specialist buyers responsible for particular material fields.
16. Clarify internal indicators for project controlling and compile all relevant information to submit qualified reports.
17. Systematically forward all relevant Procurement-related project information.
Requirements/Skills
1. Ability to work in a complex, fast-changing global organizational environment.
2. 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing/commodity management.
3. Outstanding Excel skills.
4. Outstanding communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
5. Excellent commercial, contractual, and project management acumen.
6. Familiarity with component manufacturing processes and quality.
7. Knowledge of working with a global supplier base in a matrix environment.
8. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree and/or CIPS desired.
