Group Financial Controller – No. 1 in Finance – Growing SME business
We are delighted to be partnering with a growing SME who are seeking to appoint a commercially astute Group Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations across group.
This role is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious financial professional looking to drive strategic financial leadership in a dynamic environment with a clear progression route to Finance Director.
Candidates with demonstrable experience within the construction, manufacturing or related industries would be of particular interest.

Group Financial Controller - Core Responsibilities:
* Financial Compliance: Ensure all regulatory and internal financial standards are met.
* Budgeting & Reporting: Assist with budgets, analyse variances, and encourage cost savings.
* Team Leadership: Manage a team of three finance professionals, promoting continuous improvement.
* Financial Reporting: Prepare P&L statements, balance sheets, management accounts, and forecasts.
* Board Presentations: Present financial data and insights to support strategic decision-making.
* Cash Flow Management: Ensure cash flow stability and monitor daily financial activities.
* Project Analysis: Generate Work In Progress (WIP) and Profit & Loss (P&L) analyses for profitability tracking.
* Accounting Systems: Oversee the company’s financial software systems.
* Stakeholder Management: Maintain relationships with accountants, banks, and other key partners.
* Debt Management & Compliance: Oversee debt reporting and ensure timely compliance submissions, VAT, PAYE etc.
Group Financial Controller - Qualifications & Skills:
* Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA etc.)
* 5 years + experience in a similar financial controller role
* Proficient in accountancy software and advanced MS Excel
* Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards and industry-leading practices
* Proven team management and excellent analytical skills
