We are looking for an approachable, friendly and enthusiastic individual to join our hospice catering team. In this role you will supporting the smooth and efficient running of the Caf dining room, assisting with food preparation, customer service and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The catering team and volunteers are a vital part of our organisation and we are proud of the service we provide to our patients, staff and visitors, by offering nutritious and tempting meals throughout the week and weekends.
Main duties of the job
Carry out basic food preparation Helping to deliver, serve and clear patient and/or caf dining room visitor meals. Cleaning and pot wash duties. Taking patient food orders when necessary. Restocking food areas.

Job responsibilities
To ensure the highest standards in food, service and delivery are maintained and the code of conduct is adhered to at all times. Coordinate the preparation and serving of dining room meals and beverages Prepare some salad items for lunches and sandwiches for the dining room/out of hours service if needed too. Clear away and wash crockery. Cleaning of work surfaces, cooking equipment, utensils etc., following meal preparation, following a daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule. Assist with deliveries and putting away goods taking into account appropriate stock rotation. Work with and advising volunteers as appropriate. Participate in training as required, including attending all mandatory fire training, manual handling and food hygiene.

Essential
1. Food hygiene certificate to level 2 standard or willingness to undertake training.

2. NVQ customer service and hospitality level 1
3. Minimum 2 years experience in a food-based hospitality role.

4. Experience of working within a catering/ hospitality environment.
5. Knowledge of Health& Safety, Manual handling and COSHH
6. Good understanding of confidentiality
7. Good standard of numeracy and literacy

8. Previous experience of working within a healthcare setting.
9. Previous cash handling experience
