We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced apheresis nurse to join the specialist nursing team at St Bartholomew's Hospital. The postholder will lead the apheresis team and be responsible for the specialist apheresis procedures for patients undergoing autologous transplant and related donors working within the wider apheresis team.
The post holder will work in the specialist haemato-oncology team and will be well supported both by their CNS colleagues and wider MDT. CNSs work collaboratively with our Consultant colleagues who are keen to develop the team. There are 13 Haemato-Oncology CNS at SBH and they all work closely together to provide a wide range of specialist support including nurse led follow up and transplant coordination.
In the Barts Health Cancer Service there are lots of opportunities for learning and developing skills and we support nurses in their professional development.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse
* Post registration qualification in area appropriate for speciality (e.g. cancer and/or Haemato-Oncology +/-Stem Cell Transplantation).
* UKONS SACT Passport
* Leadership course
* Evidence of Master's Degree level study or willingness to undertake
Experience
* Significant post registration experience in Haemato-oncology / Stem Cell Transplant / Cancer related area.
* Minimum 2 years Apheresis experience.
* Previous experience of student supervision and clinical education
* Experience of working well within MDT. Experience of audit, research & evidence based care
* Previous experience of working as a clinical nurse specialist
* Research experience
* Experience teaching/supporting students.
* Experience of delivering change management
Knowledge
* Proven clinical skills & sound knowledge base in Haemato -Oncology, Stem Cell Transplant and Cancer
* Clear understanding of this role and the associated responsibility and accountability
* Knowledge of JACIE and HTA standards.
* Knowledge of cancer patient experience, NICE guidance and government targets
* Knowledge of counselling techniques
* Clear understanding of clinical governance
* Up to date knowledge of professional and political issues.
