An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the senior leadership team at South Hampshire College Group as Vice Principal. This role comes with the responsibility of leading our Southampton College Campus and presents an excellent opportunity to shape a local college and its community with the support of a wider group structure.
Since the merger of Southampton College with Eastleigh College and Fareham College in August 2023, the campus has seen significant capital investment as part of the creation of Centres of Excellence in Digital, Early Years and Engineering. The vibrant Southampton campus boasts a range of high-quality facilities combined with strong industry partnerships, providing students with unparalleled hands-on experience and career opportunities.
As a Vice Principal, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education, driving strategic initiatives, and fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Duties
* As Vice Principal you will provide senior leadership of the designated college campus, ensuring the college operates in every respect to the requirements and standards of the College group.
* You will ensure, at all times, curriculum and quality standards are maintained and improved in line with the College group’s strategic and quality improvement plans.
* The role will require you to ensure the facilities and resources at the designated campus are appropriately deployed, maintained and efficiently utilised.
Skills/Experience
* Experience of driving and achieving excellent educational performance and outcomes.
* Held previous position of seniority in an education context, able to establish credibility and build cross college accountability.
* Detailed understanding of OFSTED, SAR processes and quality inspection regimes.
* Experience of achieving successful outcomes in regulatory inspections.
* Confident understanding of learning support strategies and associated pedagogy, best practice and statutory requirements.
* Proven ability to challenge, mentor & coach – a developer of leaders and high performers.
* Experience of developing a vision and strategic plan for the delivery of high-quality educational services.
Qualifications
* To hold a first degree or equivalent.
* Teaching qualification
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
