Summary Role Overview: Based at BCA Automotive's Doncaster Depot, the Night Shift Supervisor is responsible for carrying out service and repair work of the BCA Automotive fleet efficiently and competently whilst organising and distributing work to the HGV Technicians and liaising with the Head Of VMU Operations. Reporting to the Head Of VMU Operations Doncaster, the post holder's key responsibilities will be, but not limited to: What you'll do Service and/or repair BCA Automotive fleet or components using appropriate tools and equipment in a safe and economical manner. Carry out routine and preventative maintenance and inspections BCA Automotive fleet in accordance with Customers' Operating Licence requirements and record all defects found and rectification work undertaken accurately on the workshop IT systems and/or statutory documents. Ensure that all job cards and service/inspections sheets are completed properly and legibly. Use PC diagnostics to identify faults and clear fault codes using technical and computer skills. Road test vehicles before and after working on them. Understand and work according to parts order procedures, warranty claims and exchange items. Ensure that customer requirements and expectations are met, through the provision of quality workmanship. Ensure that all customer and company vehicles and property, including workshop tools and equipment, are handled with due care and attention at all times. Comply with company health and safety and environmental procedures by using safe working practices at all times and reporting any potential hazards/incidents to the Workshop Controller. Report any H&S incidents through the correct channels. Ensure HGV Technicians maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness. Tidy up after completing each job and return all tools used to their correct place. Work and behave to a professional standard at all times and be helpful and supportive to colleagues and customers. Audit and check paperwork for jobs in the workshop as well as signing off inspection sheets and Vision when vehicles are roadworthy. Control time keeping and efficiency. Prepping and sending the VOR report. Who you are Person Specification: The ideal candidate will possess: Essential: Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician) or proven experience repairing & maintaining vehicles. Current driving licence. Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements. Desirable: Previous supervisory experience or similar and be able to demonstrate good leadership skills. Ability to manage own working time to meet strict deadlines. Flexibility to work early and late shifts (if required) with shift allowance. Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to actively seek solutions to problems. Good verbal and written communication skills. Good customer service skills.
