Role Description
This is a laboratory-based opportunity. The student will work with the laboratory team to help in the development and implementation of robust cellular assays recapitulating key aspects of disease biology. As part of this work, the student will also work on a defined project suitable for their educational establishment’s requirements. The laboratory team is committed to providing the necessary training and support to provide a positive and fulfilling experience. In return, we expect the successful candidate to bring enthusiasm and a willingness to learn in the immunology field. The candidate will work as part of a team developing new in vitro assays that are used in the validation of new drug discovery targets and contribute to mechanism-of-action work for existing pipeline projects.
Minimum Requirements
* An undergraduate studying a relevant course, with an interest in immunology, metabolism, or both.
* Some prior experience of working in a laboratory environment.
* Experience working with mammalian cell cultures in vitro.
* Knowledge of plate-based assays such as ELISA.
* An understanding of the importance of laboratory HS&E regulations.
* An appreciation of the importance of HTA regulations.
* Can-do attitude and team player with strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
