Position Overview
As the Operations Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimising day-to-day operations across the organisation, ensuring that resources, processes, and people align to achieve strategic goals. You’ll collaborate closely with the senior leadership team to drive operational excellence, champion continuous improvement and help position the company for sustained growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Strategy & Execution
* Develop and implement an operational roadmap that supports the company’s strategic objectives.
* Champion Lean Management principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency.
* Identify and mitigate operational risks; proactively address bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
* Transition operational responsibilities from current senior leaders, head of communications and MD.
1. Team Leadership & Development
* Provide leadership and direction to departmental managers and their teams, ensuring that each unit has the resources and support needed to meet targets.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
* Mentor and coach managers on best practices in operations, process optimisation, and team engagement.
1. Process Optimization & Systems Management
* Evaluate, refine, and implement workflows, systems, and procedures that enhance productivity and quality.
* Oversee the successful rollout and adoption of automation and technology tools that improve operational efficiency.
* Ensure consistent tracking, reporting, and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform data-driven decisions.
1. Budgeting & Financial Oversight
* Work alongside the Finance Team & MD to manage operational budgets, control costs, and ensure projects stay on budget.
* Support the creation and presentation of business cases for new initiatives or capital investments, highlighting operational impact and ROI.
1. Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, and other departments to maintain alignment and support company-wide goals.
* Coordinate with the senior leadership team to ensure all operational initiatives ladder up to the broader strategic vision.
1. Performance Management & Reporting
* Establish and maintain clear KPIs and success metrics across operations (e.g., turnaround times, cost savings, quality improvements).
* Regularly report operational performance to the senior leadership team, identifying areas for improvement or growth opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills
* Education & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
* Proven track record (5+ years) in a senior operations leadership role, ideally within a growth-oriented or scaling business.
* Technical & Process Expertise
* Experience with Lean Management methodologies (or other continuous improvement frameworks) is essential.
* Knowledge of relevant software systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, automation platforms).
* Leadership & Communication
* Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
* Excellent communicator who can translate complex operational details into actionable insights for senior leadership.

* Skilled in data analysis, process mapping, and performance measurement.
* Ability to make informed, data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.
