Job Title: Service Manager - Mental Health & Addiction Unit
Salary: £40,000 (Starting Salary) increasing to £45,000 on successful registration
Location: Central Birmingham
I have a fantastic opportunity to join a leading provider in mental health, homelessness, and hostel accommodation as their new service manager. This is a new role that will oversee the management of a 40 bed Supported Living Complex Mental Health and Rehab unit.
Based in Birmingham City Centre, Monday to Friday Office based 8am to 4pm, 9am to 5pm. You will also oversee the On call but will very rarely be called to action.
The unit will work alongside the NHS and be responsible for hospital discharges of those with Mental Health and Addiction issues.
You will also be responsible for the following;
o Develop and implement strategic plans and operational objectives to drive the organisation`s mission and goals.
o Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term strategies for growth, sustainability, and community impact.
o Collaborate with Birmingham City Council & NHS England and other external agencies to develop lasting strategies for long-term growth and sustainability
o Monitor and evaluate operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies for optimisation.
o Ensure the quality of the physical environment and standards of services provided to citizens meet or exceed expectations.
o Oversee compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures, maintaining accreditation and licensing requirements.
o Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging staff to identify and implement creative solutions to enhance service delivery and resident experience.
o Liaise with citizens, local authorities, and other external bodies to build effective relationships, address community needs, and advocate for resources and support.
o Represent the organisation at community meetings, forums, and events, promoting collaboration and partnership.
o Effectively prepare and monitor budgets to ensure efficient use of resources while maintaining high standards of service quality and care.
o Identify cost-saving opportunities, revenue-generating initiatives, and sustainable financial practices to support organisational goals.
o Manage, schedule, and support staff to efficiently deliver person centred services, fostering a culture of teamwork, excellence, and professional growth.
o Provide leadership, mentoring and professional development opportunities to staff, promoting accountability, engagement, and job satisfaction.
o Implement systems and processes to streamline operations, improve quality, and enhance the citizen experience throughout the organisation.
o Monitor and analyse performance metrics, feedback, and outcomes to drive continuous improvement and achieve organisational excellence.
To be successful in this role you will need management experience in mental health CQC services, you will need to take registration for this service within the first 12 months, NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management and be a Driver.
