Contract: Permanent Location: Deane House, Taunton (with occasional hybrid working) Closing date for application forms: Monday, 11 November at 9.00am Interviews: Wednesday, 20 November 2024 Taunton Town Council is looking for a dedicated Internal Communications Officer to enhance our internal messaging and promote a cohesive and engaging work environment. As our Internal Communications Officer, you will craft compelling campaigns that resonate with our team and champion the core values of Taunton Town Council. You’ll innovate our intranet by designing, building, and maintaining an engaging and accessible site. Leading communications for major internal projects and initiatives will be a key part of your role, as will managing our internal communication platforms, including SharePoint, Teams, emails, and noticeboards, to ensure they are effective and current. Building strong relationships with colleagues across the Council will be essential to ensure cohesive and inclusive communication. You’ll create dynamic content for internal use and social media, including podcasts, videos, and blogs, and assist with stakeholder engagement to maintain positive relationships. Ensuring our communication strategies are inclusive and accessible to all colleagues is crucial, as is using data and feedback to continuously refine and enhance our approaches. You’ll also provide support for events, photocalls, visits, and awards. Key Tasks include: Developing and delivering impactful internal communication campaigns. Support HR in delivering key messages to staff. Creation and maintenance of policies, procedures and processes. Seeking new and improved ways of delivering by utilising technology. Building and maintaining Taunton Town Councils intranet site Working closely with the Communications Team to manage and synchronize internal and external messages.
