An exciting opportunity has arisen for a nurse leader who is passionate about the statutory child death review process. The child death review process aims to reduce child mortality rates, ensure families are supported and that lessons following a review are embedded in practice.
The post is fairly unique nationally as it is hospital based, which facilitates the delivery of comprehensive reviews that cross organisational and professional boundaries. The post holder will work in partnership with the Women's and Childrens Directorate management team. This work will include identifying risks and cases that require escalation as well as monitoring and achieving key performance indicators in line with the service specification. The post is part time
The post holder will be on the rota for the Joint Agency Response following a sudden, unexplained or traumatic child death, backed up by paediatricians. They will also be expected to lead reviews following a child death. The person will become part of the child death, palliative care and bereavement team with management responsibilities.
