Job Role
Movinghousehold and office furniture and other items to new premises or via storage.
Working in small through to large teams.
This is a Zero hours contracts role, there is potential for permanent contracts following: the completion of 3 months service, good demonstration of ability/skills and reliability.
Role and Responsibilities
·Householdremovals or relocations.
·Officeremovals or relocations.
·Takinggoods into or out of storage.
·Largespecialist projects such as moving hospital, library or school equipment.
·Movingspecialist fine art and furniture.
Day to Day
1. Safely packaging items before removal or storage
2. Wrap& protect furniture into special wrappings and packing cases for shippingoverseas.
3. Asa specialist packer, you might go to a location before the move to wrap andpack delicate items, like china, glass, artwork and antiques.
4. Using packaging to protect fragile items such as computers or antiques.
5. Taking apart larger items of furniture for packing andremoval.
6. Taking down curtains and lifting carpets if needed.
7. Removing doors, door frames orwindows to get large pieces of furniture in or out of a building
8. Packing items, loading them intoyour vehicle and securing them safely
9. Checking that all goods are secure before driving off.
10. Driving to the new location, unloading the items, reassembling large items and placing them where the customer wants them.
11. Unwrapping furniture and unpacking cartons.
