Shaw healthcare is looking for a Nurse to join the team in Cwm Celyn, Blaina. You will join a team that is fully committed to making a difference to the lives of those who we provide care for. About the service:
Cwm Celyn is a 24 bed specialist facility for adults with long term functional mental health issues and/or complex physical needs. It is situated in Blaina, Abertillery, nestled in a South Wales Valley yet it’s only 20 mins away from the market town of Abergavenny and an hour from Cardiff.
As a Nurse your key duties include:
1. Ensure the highest possible standards of care, assessing residents' needs and wishes, and developing services to enhance their quality of life
2. Champion appropriate independence and personal choice; developing, reviewing and updating care plans to meet our resident’s physical, social and psychological needs
3. Oversee all aspects of medicine management on your shift – ensuring medicines are appropriately received, stored and administered, in accordance with company policies and current legislation
4. Build the positive reputation of the Business; liaise professionally with visitors and other external stakeholders
5. Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines – identify, investigate and resolve risks proactively
6. Support, guide, teach and mentor others in line with the NMC Code, following its guidance at all times

7. The ability to lead a team, analyse problems and propose solutions or improvements
8. Able to communicate effectively and to develop professional relationships
9. Understands and effectively uses IT and communication systems required for the role
10. Respectful of the values, views and needs of others
11. Able to work under pressure and prioritise workload
12. Experience of delivering nursing care within elderly health care sector
13. Experience of participating in quality and clinical governance program
Salary: £20.60 per hour
Working Hours: as and when, shift times are 07:45-20:15 or 20:00-08:00
