Quantity Surveyor – Energy – 6 month initial contract – Outside IR35 About the Role We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor with 3-5 years of experience to support the commercial management of the SSEN framework. The role involves working closely with operational and commercial teams to ensure cost control, contract compliance, and project profitability across a range of energy infrastructure projects, including overhead line (OHL) builds, underground cable installations, civil works, and substation builds. Key Responsibilities Assist in the commercial management of multiple subcontract packages. Support the preparation and review of contracts and agreements. Provide accurate forecasting and cost value reconciliations (CVRs). Utilise ERP systems such as Coins, Causeway, or SAP for financial and project management. Ensure detailed and precise cost reporting and documentation. Collaborate with project teams to monitor budgets and financial performance. Support in the preparation and negotiation of variations and claims. Work to tight deadlines while managing workload effectively. Qualifications and Experience Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3-5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor. Experience in the utilities, infrastructure, or major projects sector (projects worth £5m preferred). Strong knowledge of contract management and commercial principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Experience working with contractors. Full UK driving licence. Project Overview Large, secured framework with SSE for the GSP3 framework in Dorset & Hampshire. Headquartered in Andover with project scope spanning multiple sites. £180m project over 4 years, with potential extension up to 8 years. Projects range from £8-9m new substations to £500k extensions.
