Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Temporary Level 2 Nursery Assistant to work with a wonderful college school based in Clapham.
As a Level 2 Nursery Assistant, you will provide invaluable support to the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality education and care to students. This position requires a strong understanding of educational practices, the ability to work with individuals and small groups, and a passion for helping students thrive academically and emotionally.
Responsibilities:
* Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging lessons, providing support to individuals and small groups of students.
* Work closely with the teacher to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes active participation and respect among students.
* Support students with their learning, including reinforcing concepts, explaining instructions, and providing guidance during independent work.
* Collaborate with the teacher to implement strategies and interventions to support students with special educational needs or specific learning difficulties.
* Help monitor and record student progress, achievements, and areas for development, providing feedback to the teacher and parents/guardians as necessary.
* Contribute to the planning and preparation of classroom resources, ensuring they are accessible and appropriate for student needs.
* Assist with classroom management, including behaviour management strategies, maintaining consistent expectations for student conduct, and promoting positive relationships.
* Provide pastoral care and emotional support to students, fostering their social and emotional well-being.
* Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues, maintaining open lines of communication to support student progress and well-being.
* Follow safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of students at all times.
Requirements:
* Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent is essential.
* Previous experience working as a Level 2 Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is highly valued.
* Passion for working with students and supporting their educational and emotional development.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
* Good understanding of educational practices and learning strategies.
* Knowledge of special educational needs and the ability to implement strategies to support students with diverse learning needs.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions provided by the teacher.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to establish positive relationships with students.
* Organizational skills to assist with classroom management, resources, and activities.
* Successful completion of background checks and any other necessary screening required by the recruitment agency and the school.
