Job Description Summary
At Lloyds Banking Group, we’re driven by a clear purpose - to Help Britain Prosper. Our CIB lending business is growing, making this a fantastic time to join us.
The role
We have an exciting opportunity for a lawyer to join the Debt Products Legal (DPL) team to help support our CIB lending business, principally working in the syndicated debt space. DPL plays a critical role in supporting the CIB lending proposition of today, whilst preparing us for the advances in the future. DPL serves as a centre of excellence and business partner, managing the legal risks arising from our lending products.
What we’re looking for:
You’ll need to:
* Provide technical legal input to support delivery of transactions and strategic projects;
* Operate as a specialist legal adviser in respect of large corporate lending, particularly syndicated lending;
* Build trust and internal networks to provide appropriate professional advice;
* Challenge and influence our partners, and deputise for senior colleagues where appropriate;
* Collaborate with other key legal areas within Legal & Secretariat;
* Be agile and willing to support legal, regulatory or other projects across BCCIB Legal.
Essentials:
* A current practising certificate in a relevant jurisdiction;
* Experience and understanding of the legal and regulatory framework and market practices applying to commercial lending;
* Post-qualifying legal experience in the above areas.
Desirables:
It would be useful to also have:
* Experience in infrastructure and project finance, financial sponsors lending, or real estate finance;
* A working understanding of the delivery model for commercial lending.
We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:
* A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
* An annual performance-related bonus
* Share schemes including free shares
* Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle
* 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top
* A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
As a colleague of the Group, we’ll provide you with continuous training and development opportunities.
We're committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve, and to building an inclusive environment.
