Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to join our team on Ward 10, Children's Surgical Ward. We are looking to recruit an experienced, highly motivated and dedicated individual who can work with our team to deliver high quality patient care.
Ward 10 is a 20 bedded surgical ward which provides care for paediatric patients requiring care for a variety of medical and surgical conditions, including bowel and urology conditions, thus providing staff with an environment for continuous learning and development.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the development and implementation of training and skills programmes within Ward 10. You will contribute to the development and implementation of specific procedures and policies to support clinical education and practice, clinical working, staff development, quality and safety, patient experience and quality standards.
Job responsibilities
* Working in conjunction with the Ward Sister and Practice Education Team to support the development and education of ward staff by identifying and implementing appropriate clinical skills and development opportunities.
* Work clinically alongside registered and non-registered staff, promoting and delivering clinical skills training practice, ensuring that skills adhere to UHL Policies and procedures.
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of clinical skills training and practice development within the Ward.
* You will be required to work up to 50% of your hours as a band 6, working clinically on the ward.

* RCN Nurse or Registered Nurse with children's experience
* First Degree or equivalent experience
