We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Year 7 SEND Teacher to join an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. You will play a key role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, helping them to develop academically, socially, and emotionally as they transition into secondary education. This role begins March 2025.
Duties as a Year 7 SEND Teacher:
* Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of SEND students
* Support students with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities
* Work closely with the SENCO, teaching assistants, and external specialists to implement EHCPs and individual support plans
* Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and encouraged
* Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on student progress and well-being
* Promote positive behaviour and emotional resilience in line with the school’s policies
Ideal Year 7 SEND Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience working with SEND students, particularly in a secondary setting
* A strong understanding of differentiated teaching and behaviour management strategies
* Patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive education as a Year 7 SEND Teacher
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
