WHAT TO EXPECT
The purpose of this role is to manage day-to-day a team who contribute to the delivery of the logistics operations for Solihull / Logistics Operations Centre supporting production operations across multiple manufacturing areas both within BIW and Trim and Final assembly. This will include the LLP, maintenance, facilities, and other associated functions. You will support the Solihull Plant operation and transition by:
1. Delivering programme plans on time ensuring flawless launches and daily operations.
2. Coordinating and supporting the work of the Lead Logistics Provider (LLP) for Solihull.
3. Ensuring delivery of the area’s scorecard metrics.
4. Undertaking any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
1. Manage the operational interface with the Lead Logistics Provider daily.
2. Lead the delivery of the Scorecard metrics associated with operational areas of control.
3. Work with project teams on the development and deployment of new solutions into the live operational environment.
4. Drive continuous improvement on a day-to-day basis with our LLP and JLR support functions.
5. To drive constraint analysis and problem-solving techniques in a disciplined and consistent manner.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
1. Experience in Material Planning / Logistics in Supply Chain.
2. Have previous experience in multiple logistics functions providing in-depth knowledge of organisational processes.
3. Experience of warehouse management operations and control processes.
4. Previous experience managing a team.
5. Extensive knowledge of problem-solving techniques and understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
