Our Building Operating Unit is currently looking to recruit a Head of Planning to lead the planning function. This operating unit delivers major private and public sector building projects in Central London and the regions.
What you'll do:
1. Lead the function in developing an OU wide planning strategy, including 4D planning and embedding modern planning techniques, data collection and reporting.
2. Define, maintain and ensure compliance with department standards. Take the lead as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in representing the OU in the Skanska management system.
3. Provide hands-on planning delivery when required, including tenders, prequalification, governance, and construction programmes as required.
4. Lead the allocation of resources across the Building OU projects to ensure a quality service is maintained at all times.
5. Lead improvements in the use of planning data to support the OU’s data strategy relating to production control (delivery to time) and project controls (visual management of project progress & status), through PowerBI or similar.
What you'll bring to the role:
1. Degree qualified in construction and or MCIOB or other equivalent experience / qualifications.
2. Proficient user of Asta Powerproject and P6 Primavera.
3. Knowledge and experience in the use of PowerBI for reporting planning data.
4. Proven track record of tendering projects.
5. Understanding of BIM / exposure to 4D planning.
6. Management / leadership experience in a similarly sized business.
7. Worked across a variety of building projects e.g. Commercial, retail, residential, healthcare, education.
8. Experienced across different types of contracts – NEC, JCT, Management Contracting.
