Working within the Estates & Facilities Department, you will be part of the team responsible for the delivery of a range of comprehensive projects service across the Trust’s estate, which will be responsive, efficient, financially effective and to a high standard.
The post holder will support the Capital Projects team in the production and updating of AutoCAD drawings covering construction plans, mechanical & electrical service drawings, fire drawings, building surveys and site masterplans for the Trust estate. In addition to producing layout and feasibility drawings.
The post holder will be required to undertake measured building surveys and produce accurate new plans or update existing plans. Regularly uploading them to our CAFM system (MICAD).
You will be proficient in the use of AutoCAD. You will ensure all drawings are produced to a high standard, in consistent format with the relevant title block and scale and this will include of all building services.
You will be required to travel across the Trust Estate, including some properties off site.
You will be the team’s key technical archivist managing both the digital records library and physical technical library. You will ensure that existing digital drawings are catalogued appropriately and will convert historic records into digital format where required.

• Responsible for conducting building surveys and taking accurate measurements to produce scaled drawings on AutoCAD.
• Responsible for managing all DCH buildings drawing information, document record control ensuring information governance is adhered to.
• Frequently carry out surveys and feasibility studies for projects and future developments within the site
• Working with the Capital Programme Manager and Capital Project Manager in assisting cost estimates to enable users to determine the viability and financial implications of projects.
• Responsible for producing conceptual drawings for projects and space utilisation
• To receive and update O&M manuals from the operational team and project managers
• To assist the Capital Programme Manager & Capital Project Manager in the production of feasibility drawings for projects and Space Utilisation
• To manage onsite drawing archive store and master drawings for the site including all historic O & M records.
• Develop an understanding of relevant Health Technical Memorandum (HTMS) and Health Building Notes (HBN’s) when creating drawings for projects.
• Designing with the consideration of building regulations in mind and where required engagement with building control and planning.
• Provide advice to users in connection with specific technical issues and assessing the best solution to the project problem, considering healthcare standards.
• Become an active member of the projects team
• To support the delivery of the Trusts Estates Capital Programme
• Establishing and maintaining contact with external clients, design consultants, projects team and more
• The nature of the work undertaken with Estates & Facilities is specialised and frequently priorities are changed, the post holder will need to show an ability to adapt to demands of the particular schemes whilst maintaining a planned workload.
• Facilitating in maintaining the feedback of capital project information into the maintenance records
• Meet statutory deadlines for information requirements i.e. planning requirements, returns, tender documentation, etc.
• Covering for Assistant Estates Project Manager as and when required, supervising contractors and consultants.
• Assist with ERIC (Estates Returns Information Collection) and PAM returns (Property Assurance Model) – compiling relevant information as required.
• Assist in training members of the department in CAD and undertaking basic workplace assessments
