Our client, a prestigious consulting firm in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a skilled System Engineer / Infrastructure Specialist for a contract role. This opportunity involves supporting our client's infrastructure needs, enabling them to effectively manage existing assets and advise on upgrades or new projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leverage technical knowledge to assist clients in making informed decisions regarding infrastructure designs.
* Enhance the capability and effectiveness of client infrastructure through strategic decision-making.
* Offer technical problem-solving advice and support.
* Define and manage customer requirements effectively.
* Collect and analyse data to resolve problems and deliver recommendations.
* Implement recommendations that deliver tangible benefits to clients.
* Ensure understanding and effective exploitation of proposed solutions.
* Identify opportunities to implement best practices.
* Support business development activities to enhance visibility of infrastructure services.
* Design, create, and test moderately complex subject matter in their capability area.
* Work autonomously with limited supervision, taking responsibility for planning and analysis.
Job Requirements:
* Minimum Level 4 qualification (e.g., HNC) in a relevant Engineering or Science subject or equivalent work experience.
* M&E or Civil/Structural Engineering experience in infrastructure environments.
* Strong stakeholder management skills across multiple levels.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Proactive, self-starter approach to professional development.
* UK Security Clearance and sole UK national status.
* Experience in defence infrastructure environments, particularly maritime.
* Understanding of Systems Engineering Principles as defined in the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook.
* Knowledge of Nuclear Safety Management Systems, Assurance & Regulation.
* Familiarity with Nuclear Authorisation Conditions.
* Understanding of the CADMID process.
Employment Conditions:
* 37.5 hours per week, with part-time options available.
* Remote working capability with flexibility to travel to various locations such as Weymouth, Bath, Fareham, Plymouth, Glasgow, and potentially overseas.
