Playground Games is looking for a Payroll and Contracts Assistant to join our team on a contract basis.

About the role:
Working closely with the Payroll Manager and wider Finance team in a fast-paced environment to deliver effective processes within the Company. The role involves engaging with a range of disciplines and external stakeholders and requires the ability to work to deadlines and high levels of accuracy. This is a part-time role with 15 hours a week over 3 days (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays), of which at least 1 would be office-based in Royal Leamington Spa.
What you’ll do:
* Provide a link between Playground Games and our external provider of contractors.
* Be the main point of contact within Playground Games for any queries in relation to the hiring of external contractors.
* Obtain approvals for all new external contractors.
* Liaise with external provider to onboard new external contractors.
* Advise all relevant stakeholders of new external contractors.
* Meet and greet with new external contractors on the first day of contract.
* Maintain absence records and ensure payment of holidays and sickness in line with policy.
* Assist with completion and approval of timesheets.
* Respond to external contractor queries.
* Check and approve external provider invoices.
* Analyse and review invoices.
* Provide support to the internal payroll department if required.
* Ad-hoc tasks as required by the Payroll Manager and Finance Manager.
Additional:
* Ensure that all duties, checks, and documentation are completed to the required level of accuracy and within defined timelines.
* Perform other duties, and provide general assistance to the broader finance team, as may be requested from time to time.
* Keep up to date with company policies.
* Keep up to date with external providers' systems and policies.
* Be aware of changes to payroll legislation.
What you’ll bring:
* Knowledge and previous experience in a Payroll or Contracts role.
* Professional attitude and ability to work in a confidential manner.
* High attention to detail.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* A team player.
* Maintain strong working relationships with team members.
* Good working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word.
* Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis purposes.
