As Research and Enterprise Contracts Manager, you will work to deliver a high-quality contract support service covering the full breadth of the University’s research and enterprise portfolio.
You will be required to review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of contracts and collaboration agreements, ensuring that they are put in place in a timely and effective manner, reflecting the needs of the University and those of the funder and/or other parties both at the start and during the life of the project. Where necessary, for complex contracts and agreements, the role will liaise with the University’s central Legal Services Team.
We are looking for someone with a high level of emotional intelligence who has the ability to develop strong working relationships with staff at all levels across the University to ensure quality service delivery, demonstrating political awareness, diplomacy and tact. You will have strong inter-personal skills, with the ability to develop effective working relationships with all levels of staff; evidence of the ability to interpret complex procedural guidelines; experience in research related contract administration ideally in the higher education sector and experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating research related and commercial or business contracts. In addition, you will possess a high level of legal and contractual knowledge, including contractual issues such as intellectual property, confidentiality, publications, liabilities and indemnities and other related issues and have commercial and political awareness, along with an understanding of the issues surrounding the sector and the marketplace.
