We are searching for a friendly, patient, reliable personal assistant for my Mum.
Ideally, you would have experience dealing with the elderly and the challenges that dementia can bring. Maybe you have worked in a care home or perhaps you have cared for your own parents?
While fiercely independent, Mum needs someone to help with shopping and evening meal preparation a few times a week; a little help with some of the jobs she finds more difficult, like changing the bed, cleaning the bathroom and hoovering through her small home. Perhaps you’d like to go on the occasional trip out?
Mum’s best fit would be with someone warm and friendly with a great sense of humour.
We’d like someone who can sit and chat, prepare a small, nutritious, simple meal and eat with her.
She is an interesting, chatty, friendly lady who needs her “own person” to spend time with her and ensure she is eating a decent meal at least a few times a week.
This is a part-time position for 10 hours per week with an hourly rate of £11.50 plus 5.6 weeks (pro rata) paid annual leave and workplace pension scheme.
