What is the Job?
We are looking for excellent Front of House Supervisors for this year’s Fringe, delivered by Summerhall Arts at Summerhall. The Front of House team will play a vital role in ensuring an enjoyable and safe experience for all our artists, audiences, and customers throughout the Summerhall Arts Fringe 2025. You will be assisting the Front of House Managers and supporting the Front of House Team to ensure the venue runs smoothly and audiences have an excellent experience. The role requires stamina, multitasking skills, and the ability to think on your feet. We are looking for people who can work independently as well as part of a big team, so great communication skills and a big smile are essential!
What will you be doing?
1. Supervising a team of Front of House Staff in our venues including ensuring queues are managed, shows start on time and staff and patrons are well looked after.
2. Delivering briefings to the Front of House team.
3. Ensuring staff timesheets are completed accurately.
4. Selling, checking, and scanning customer tickets and problem-solving any technological issues that arise from digital tickets.
5. Being the first escalation point for audience issues.
6. Working with Venue Managers to ensure Summerhall Arts policies and procedures are enforced throughout our venues.
7. Completing Front of House show reports, ensuring shows are running smoothly.
8. Taking the initiative to anticipate audience needs and facilitating a safe visit and memorable Fringe experience.
9. Liaising with performers, tech teams, and facilitating basic stage management to ensure that performances start and end on time.
10. Assisting audiences who have specific access requirements.
Who are you?
1. Experience of leading a team in an events or customer service setting.
2. Ability to motivate a team, ensuring spirits and standards are kept high.
3. Ability to problem-solve and deescalate issues calmly and professionally.
4. Responsible and reliable with excellent timekeeping skills.
5. Enthusiastic, motivated, and hardworking with good communication skills.
6. Ability to work well under pressure and during very busy peaks of service.
7. Have a passion for the arts and an excitement for the Summerhall Arts programme.
8. Experience in a customer service role at a festival or arts organisation would be nice, but not essential.
