PART TIME RECEPTIONIST
ST BRYCEDALE SURGERY
Salary/Banding: Band 2
Hours: 20 Hours Per Week, 4 hours daily (Flexibility essential during our opening hours of 8am-6pm and a requirement to work one extended hours shift until 6:45pm on a rotational basis.)
St Brycedale Surgery is a four-partner GP Practice based in the heart of the community, located centrally within the beautiful Kingdom of Fife, with easy access to Edinburgh, Perth, and St Andrews. We are an east coast town with the beach just a 10-minute walk away.
Our ethos is to provide the best possible primary care services to our patients in an efficient, friendly, and sympathetic manner. We are seeking a reception team member who enjoys working with the public, maintaining professionalism and approachability at all times. A positive attitude, especially when dealing with patients and team interactions, is essential. We desire an enthusiastic, motivated individual confident in a busy, challenging environment.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and responsible. Effective communication skills, the ability to work well within a team and independently, accuracy under pressure, and attention to detail are crucial. Problem-solving skills, initiative, and confidentiality awareness are essential.
The candidate must be flexible to cover staff absences, holidays, and overtime to meet practice needs.
Duties:
Responsibilities include all reception and admin tasks to ensure smooth practice operations, such as signposting patients, assisting with appointments, prescription requests, and general inquiries, and effective communication within the multidisciplinary team.
Experience with GP clinical systems is advantageous. Previous public interaction experience is essential. A medical background is preferred but not mandatory.
