About the role
We are hiring an Engineering Team Leader at our Ossett site to lead a team of 3 engineers on shift. This hands-on role involves managing all aspects of daily site maintenance, working 12-hour shifts on days and nights, with overtime available.
Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise the engineering team to support manufacturing operations.
* Achieve KPIs related to equipment performance, reliability, breakdowns, and maintenance completion.
* Coach team members on safe working practices and fault diagnosis.
* Plan and coordinate team resources for timely task completion.
* Motivate and develop team members, identifying skills and behavior development needs.
* Participate in Continuous Improvement and Lean activities.
* Support other departments as needed, demonstrating company values.
* Manage non-conformance and corrective actions to ensure compliance.
Hands-on tasks
* Attend to reactive maintenance needs.
* Assist with developing PPM systems and scheduling maintenance.
* Perform fault diagnosis and repair of machinery.
* Coordinate with production staff to communicate issues.
* Ensure high equipment availability and effective root cause analysis.
* Manage maintenance tools, stores, and equipment.
Candidate requirements
Successful candidates will have:
* Experience in an FMCG environment.
* An engineering apprenticeship and relevant qualification (Electrical Engineering HND/HNC/BTech or equivalent).
* Strong fault-finding skills.
* PLC fault-finding (desirable).
* Leadership experience (beneficial but not required).
