Our client, a prestigious local government body, is seeking to recruit a Corporate Fire Risk Assessor in Oxfordshire to join the Fire Safety team, operating within the Property and Assets Directorate. This is a crucial role that will involve conducting fire risk assessments, audits, inspections, and surveys across our corporate stock, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and minimising risk.
Duties for the position include:
1. Being primarily responsible for providing and delivering 100% compliance for Fire Risk Assessments across the Oxford City Council corporate portfolio.
2. Working as part of a team of Fire Risk Assessors, utilising an excellent knowledge of the FRA process to view fire risk holistically and ensure that risk is identified and communicated accurately.
3. Ensuring suitable and accurate remedial works are identified and communicated in assessments, aligning with the timeframes recommended in the clients FRA Process documents.
4. Providing technical fire safety advice to colleagues and acting as a point of contact for external organisations regarding fire safety.
5. Developing relationships and working closely with contractors, customers, and colleagues in collating and reporting information.
Minimum Requirements:
To apply for the position, you will need to have a strong technical background with a clear understanding of the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order (2005) and relevant fire safety legislation and guidance documents, with some experience gained in housing. You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate fire risk and good fire safety practice to all relevant persons.
1. Hold Tier 2 accreditation via IFSM as a minimum (or be willing to obtain).
2. Hold a valid nationally recognised fire safety qualification such as NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management, Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE), or similar.
3. A recognised minimum grade 3 qualification within fire risk assessment such as the FPA, IFE or similar or registered by a competent body for FRA.
4. Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in the fire safety industry.
5. Experience of carrying out FRAs in social housing.
