Job Description
We have a great opportunity for the right person to join our team at Southside Housing Association. We are a friendly, forward-thinking organisation where innovation, flexibility, and positive communication are embraced. Our focus is on quality of service and helping others.
If you like to work in a fast-moving environment with a varied workload and have excellent technical knowledge and problem-solving skills, this could be for you.
We are a charitable community-controlled housing association owning and managing approximately 2,250 houses for social rent, providing a factoring service for approximately 750 owners and managing just over 250 properties through our subsidiary Southside Lettings for Mid-Market. We also have an extensive development programme to build new homes.
The post holder will have a high level of knowledge and ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory, legislative, and compliance requirements and best practices, including the monitoring and management of issues relating to CDM 2015, gas safety, asbestos management, water safety, lift safety, electrical safety, and reported cases of damp and mould. It is expected that the officer will have a strong technical understanding of these issues.
A specific role of the post holder will be to provide leadership and supervision to the Service Contracts Assistant, overseeing activities, managing services, and ensuring service delivery on time, within budget, and to expected standards. It is expected that where required, the role will implement or propose changes or improvements within the Service Contracts Team.
In today's environment, the ability to work in a changing environment with competing pressures is necessary, and the successful candidate will be a team player with a 'can-do' attitude and the desire to learn new things while ensuring that our customers receive the best possible service.
This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to develop their skills in inspection and contract management while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. A competence in using IT packages will be required.
The successful candidate will hold a valid driver's licence and should have access to a vehicle for work use.
