Job Posting Title: Supervisor, YouTube Channel Management Req ID: 10108900 Job Description: Job Summary The Supervisor, YouTube Channel Management, UK & EMEA is responsible for managing, operating, optimising and overseeing Disney’s EMEA YouTube channels as well as identifying ways to increase channel performance and advising teams across 32 EMEA markets. The core objective of this role is to ensure all UK & EMEA YouTube channels are optimised in order to maximise the opportunity for content to be served organically and to grow subscribers across all accounts. This requires a deep understanding of the YouTube algorithm and content performance to establish and evolve bespoke channel management strategies for all TWDC EMEA YouTube channels whilst ensuring YouTube leads are enabled to deliver against it. Reporting into the Senior Manager, YouTube & Creators UK & EMEA, this role has two key areas of focus, running the DisneyUK and DisneyChannelUK YouTube accounts to ensure they are planned, scheduled and programmed to maximise organic reach and grow subscribers; and using data and insights to identify strategies and practices that build knowledge and provide support for teams across EMEA to achieve maximum impact on the platform. Working with the Media Networks, Disney Consumer Products, Brand Franchise Management and Disney teams, the YouTube Channel Management Supervisor will use their in-depth knowledge to develop content strategies and build content calendars that deliver against campaign and business objectives. This role requires strong interpersonal skills in order to work harmoniously with global teams and stakeholders as well as an ability to find solutions for complex content plans; communicating and negotiating with teams across the business to ensure all stakeholders are kept updated and receive the support they require, as well getting buy-in for the EMEA content and upload strategy which can differ from domestic and local market priorities. As well as the ability to build and maintain close connections with internal personnel, the YouTube Channel Management Supervisor must also establish strong relationships with contacts at the platform in order to stay updated with updates and developments; interpreting and communicating any potential positive or negative impacts and opportunities on TWDC accounts. This role requires a deep knowledge of and interest in YouTube at both a content and platform level and a deep understanding of the YouTube algorithm and channel optimisation is imperative. The YouTube Channel Management Supervisor will be responsible for keeping accounts refreshed, organised and updated with playlists; logos, copy, metadata and cover images, whilst working with the Senior YouTube Analyst to analyse ways of maximising the effectiveness of content uploads, conducting regular reviews of volumes, timings, content types and audience engagement. The Channel Management Supervisor will also work hand-in-glove with the YouTube Content Supervisor to deliver and share content calendars, ensuring all content is delivered on time and is optimised to achieve maximum impact with its target audience. The Cross Company Social Media team has a test-and-learn approach and this role is expected to adopt this innovation-seeking and proactive way of working, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of new and evolving platform changes to ensure any updates to the algorithm are incorporated into the channel management and content roll-out strategy. This is an office-based role. 4 days working in the Hammersmith, London office with 1 day working from home (Monday or Friday). The Opportunity & Responsibilities: YouTube Account Management & Oversight – UK & EMEA Management of the DisneyChannelUK & DisneyUK YouTube channels Operational support for Italy in the absence of YT resource Setting channel management and optimisation strategy for all TWDC UK & EMEA YT accounts Key point person for EMEA markets – creating best practice guidelines and advising on all aspects of account management Direct responsibility for the operation and content roll-out for Disney Junior, Marvel HQ and Star Wars Kids accounts in all EMEA markets Advise stakeholders across UK LOBs and EMEA markets on content optimisation and timings Channel optimisation – effective timing and volume of uploads; copy writing, metadata management, scheduling videos Work closely with the YouTube analyst to proactively identify opportunities and create strategies that drive views and subscriber growth Set and evolve the channel management strategy setting out how channel managers should use metadata, copy, thumbnails, format frequency, tagging etc. to optimise their channels Oversee all EMEA accounts, keeping them refreshed, organised and updated with playlists; logos and cover images Build strong relationships with US channel managers to manage and negotiate content uploads for UK content on US-run accounts Create and share platform updates and the best practice approach to channel management Work with global and EMEA teams to ensure that EMEA needs, requirements, timings and local nuances are taken into account - sharing information in both directions Deliver content calendars to support the EMEA Disney Junior YouTube content strategy – delivering full episode roll-out schedule to support DCP and franchise priorities in linear and Disney markets – taking into account the specific restrictions in each market Maintain a close partnership with YouTube, staying up to date on content best practice and trends Work with the Senior Manager, YouTube & Creators to ensure teams are kept up to date on the latest platform developments, formats, testing opportunities, trends and innovations with the aim of improving content performance Work with the Senior YouTube Analyst to review content performance and inform content recommendations Communicate and implement YouTube governance guidelines and best practice as outlined by the Social Media Director Encourage collaboration by inspiring teams with shared examples of success and best-in-class content from across the business Be an internal ambassador for the Cross Company YouTube team, communicating areas in which we can offer support and assistance when appropriate Cross-Company Support Support TWDC lines of business to provide consultation and support for pan-regional YouTube activity, ensuring content is relevant and localisable across EMEA handles, whilst meeting wider business objectives/goals Gather insights and share information to increase YouTube knowledge within the business. Be the point-person for advice on YouTube channel management and content optimisation. Offer guidance, best practice advice, governance and support Encourage innovation by inspiring teams with shared examples of success and best-in-class content from across the business. The Experience We Require From You: Experience operating YouTube channels (client and/or agency) Knowledge and experience in social media marketing with an aptitude to constantly identify, evolve and develop additional skills.
