Workshop Supervisor
Responsible for workshop administration, including scheduling jobs, monitoring progress, updating customers, and maintaining processes. Monitors KPI and performance reports. Oversees and distributes workload to technicians.
Works closely with the Service Manager to ensure a smooth, efficient workshop delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Welcomes customers and listens to their needs
* Distributes workload to the team based on engineer competencies
* Answers calls, handles queries, or directs to relevant parties
* Informs customers of job timings, progress, and bill changes
* Communicates site visit dates and times
* Gathers repair data before engineer visits and records information on job cards
* Inputs job stories and verifies completed jobs for accuracy in parts and labour
* Processes invoicing and credits for the workshop
* Ensures warranty forms are submitted to the Warranty Manager on time
* Manages Work In Progress to meet current goals
* Schedules work and assigns jobs based on technician skills and abilities
* Ensures adherence to service processes, policies, and safety guidelines
* Assists the Service Manager in reviewing workshop performance and addressing issues
* Helps analyze profitability and labour utilization to maintain efficiency and profitability
* Participates in out-of-hours on-call rota
Skills & Qualifications:
* Engineering or customer-focused background
* Workshop experience preferred, with familiarity in working with technicians
* Excellent communication skills with adaptability
* Organized and calm under pressure
* Confident, curious, and eager to develop
* Proficient in IT and Microsoft applications
