Job Title: Resident Services Officer Location: Guildhall London Duration : 12 Months Work Type: Onsite Job Description Purpose of the Role The Resident Services Officer provides a comprehensive and supportive housing management service to residents across designated estates. This role ensures tenancies and leases are effectively managed while promoting resident involvement, inclusion, and engagement. The officer will also address and resolve issues such as anti-social behavior, nuisance complaints, and domestic abuse in line with policies and best practices. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, resident-focused housing management services in line with service standards, policies, and procedures. Handle all aspects of tenancy management, including sign-ups, introductory visits, tenancy audits, mutual exchanges, successions, assignments, and terminations. Investigate and resolve tenancy or lease breaches, ensuring accurate record-keeping. Manage and resolve reports of anti-social behavior, nuisance, and neighbor disputes in collaboration with relevant agencies. Ensure sensitive and best-practice case management for incidents of domestic abuse and safeguarding concerns. Identify and respond to resident support needs, making appropriate referrals to partner agencies. Actively promote and support resident involvement, fostering positive relationships with resident groups. Facilitate and implement the Housing Division's resident engagement strategy on assigned estates. Conduct periodic tenancy audits, investigating suspected tenancy fraud and taking appropriate action. Collaborate with colleagues to manage void properties efficiently, conducting inspections, viewings, and sign-ups. Provide timely and high-quality responses to resident inquiries, complaints, and Members' enquiries. Take a proactive approach to resolving issues, ensuring a positive experience for residents. Adhere to the client Corporation's Occupational Health, Safety, and Wellbeing policies. Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of the role. Comply with financial regulations, monitoring and reporting budget variances as needed. Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience Essential Qualifications & Skills Relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIH) or substantial experience in housing management. Strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills, with experience using housing management software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong administrative and organizational abilities. Experience & Knowledge In-depth knowledge of housing law and regulations with practical experience in a social housing setting. Experience handling complex resident queries and working with elected members and external agencies. Strong customer service, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. Experience managing anti-social behavior cases and resolving nuisance issues. Understanding of safeguarding principles for vulnerable adults and children. Experience in resident engagement activities and community-building efforts. Ability to produce clear, well-structured reports, letters, and resident communications. Strong time management skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality best practices.
