Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate, enthusiastic, and positive Personal Care Assistants to join a team in providing essential care and support to a gentleman with a Spinal Cord Injury in their home. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for helping others, ensuring their well-being, and will possess experience in a caring and supportive environment.
A full clean driving licence is a prerequisite for all applying.
This role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Certificate (DBS)
Role
1. Implement care plans and report any changes in the client's condition
2. Complete daily shift notes
3. Support client with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
4. Support client with mobility around the home or outside
5. Support client in social and recreational activities
6. Drive client to appointments and other venues as required using client's wheelchair accessible vehicle
7. Help with meal preparation
8. Perform light housekeeping tasks
9. Communicate effectively with client, families, care team, and healthcare professionals
10. Liaise with Case Manager and report any concerns
Essential Requirements
1. Full clean driving licence
2. Stable work history with a minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role
3. Proficient in English and excellent written and verbal communication skills
4. Strong interpersonal skills and empathy towards others
Desirable Requirements
1. Experience in working with Spinal Cord Injury
2. Experience driving a wheelchair adapted vehicle
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £12.00-£14.00 per hour
