Job summary
Do you have a clinical skills qualification if so we have an opportunity for a Night Nurse Practitioners with minor injury/illness / skills to work at Berwick Infirmary supporting our Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) until 12 midnight and then to move to the ward to support the nursing team as senior night nurse in the hospital.
The successful applicant would be working in an autonomous role with the support of a nursing assistant. Should anyone attend our minor Injuries department over night the NNP would be expected to open MIU and assess /treat the patient.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an autonomous practitioner who is happy to work independently treating a varied group of patients who may present to our Minor Injuries Unit overnight. The successful candidate is the senior nurse in the hospital at night and has a responsibility to support the night nursing team clinically and professionally overnight as a support to the ward manger.
The successful candidate should have experience with minor injuries and have advanced clinical assessment/ Nurse practitioner experience.

Job responsibilities
To provide advanced clinical support to medical staff and the nursing team. To work in an interdisciplinary manner with doctors, nurses, social services and other agencies,to provide high quality care for patients. To triage patients, prioritising clinical need, highlighting and initiating treatment plans byfollowing agreed Trust guidelines and protocols To undertake detailed assessments initiating investigations, determining a differential diagnosisand initiating appropriate holistic, evidence-based treatment and care and reviews of patientsunder supervision of the medical team. To provide senior nursing support on operational issues during the night To support the ward team once MIU closes at 12 midnight To undertake detailed reviews of patients who may deteriorate or fall as appropriate To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of acollective leadership culture within the trust. Qualifications
Essential
1. First level (live NMC) RGN / RN.
2. Significant post registration experience
3. Nurse Pracitioner qualification (NACAN or NNPC) and/or relevant clinical skills qualification
4. Registered Mentor
5. ENB 998/730 or equivalent (126/127) units
6. Evidence of qualification to undertake the supervision, teaching and assessing of students (essential requirement for post, expectation this will be completed within an 18 month period)
Desirable
7. IRMER course
8. Experience of working at senior nurse level
9. Achievement of, or working towards degree / masters' level qualification
10. Transcribing skills and willingness to undertake prescribing course
