Quantity Surveyor – Interior Fit-Out Construction Contractor
Salary: c£60k - £70k (Dependent on Relevant Experience)

The Client
My client is a dynamic and specialist interior fit-out contractor operating in a variety of sectors ranging from leisure & hospitality, high-end commercial office, and luxury hotels, working on landmark prestigious projects throughout the UK.
The Quantity Surveyor Role:
Focusing on projects in the high-end interior fit-out sector, they are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to deliver refurbishment and interior fit-out projects throughout the UK. You will join a senior management team made up of individuals with extensive experience in the high-end interiors marketplace.
Roles & Responsibilities Include:
1. Review and assess tender and project enquiries, ensuring cost-effective tender submissions are prepared.
2. Look to further improve efficiencies within the Interiors department.
3. Contribute to departmental meetings.
4. Ensure all internal and external meetings are well prepared and attended, including tender interviews.
5. Provide all relevant information to support quality submissions.
6. Enhance relationships with existing and new sub-contractors and suppliers.
7. Provide commercial awareness on live projects.
8. Prepare monthly valuations.
9. Prepare subcontractor payment certificates.
10. Manage and maximise variations during the contract.
11. Submit and agree final account statements.
12. Accurately update and present the monthly project cost reports.
13. Assist in training junior staff.
14. Manage and prepare loss and expense claims.
15. Ensure all relevant processes and protocols are adhered to.
16. Maintain a dynamic attitude to ensure the department succeeds.
The Successful Quantity Surveyor:
1. In-depth knowledge of the construction process including both new build and fit-out/refurbishment.
2. Understanding and willingness to get involved with estimating as well as traditional QS duties.
3. Experience in the majority of the above roles & responsibilities.
4. Degree qualified or NVQ, BTEC or Higher National equivalent.
5. 3 to 5 years full-time experience in a surveying role with a leading reputable main/principal contractor.
6. Good knowledge and understanding of Word and Excel packages.
7. Good verbal and written communication skills.
