Job Title: Progressions Officer
Location: LS1 (Office-Based)
About the Role
Are you passionate about supporting adult learners on their career path after they’ve completed their training? Join a leading provider of government-funded courses that equip learners with the skills they need to succeed in industries like telecoms. This newly created role is essential to ensuring learners receive the post-course support they need to achieve their career goals.
As a Progressions Officer, you’ll have two main responsibilities. The first is tracking learner progress post-course by gathering evidence of their progression and compiling reports to meet funding requirements. The second involves supporting learners at the end of their course by providing CV preparation, interview guidance, and assistance throughout the job application process. While the Business Development team focuses on engaging employers and finding opportunities, you’ll ensure both learners and employers are supported through every step of the process.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re keen to speak to candidates from the training, education, or welfare-to-work sectors who have experience providing career advice and Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) to learners or customers. You should have at least a basic understanding of government-funded training programmes, such as AEB and Bootcamps, and the confidence to engage learners and employers over the phone to track progressions, find out information, and achieve targets.
If you excel at building relationships, have the persistence of a dog with a bone when following up with learners who may be hard to reach, and thrive in a target-driven environment, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
1. Track learner progress post-course, including employment outcomes and further training, ensuring evidence is collected and reports are prepared accurately.
2. Provide learners nearing course completion with tailored support, including CV preparation, interview guidance, and job application advice.
3. Build and maintain relationships with learners, employers, and referral partners, ensuring smooth transitions into employment or further opportunities.
What You Bring
1. Proven experience in career advice, IAG, or learner support, with a strong ability to engage and motivate individuals.
2. Excellent organisational skills to manage large caseloads, prepare evidence, and compile accurate reports.
3. Basic knowledge of government-funded training programmes, such as AEB and Bootcamps, and confidence in meeting targets in a fast-paced environment.
4. Experience working in the training, education, or welfare-to-work sectors.
5. A willingness to work towards an IAG Level 2 qualification.
6. Previous experience with audits and Ofsted inspections.
If you’re ready to bring your energy, passion, and commitment to a role where you can make a tangible difference in people’s lives, we’d love to hear from you!
