The Role:
1. The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for their geographical region and will help to identify growth areas in the CASE Polyurethane and Bioplastics market.
2. Develop a robust pipeline of new prospects, develop business cases and lead prioritized programs through the opportunity development pipeline.
3. Responsible for all customer accounts in their defined territory and for leading and driving key relationships.
4. Developing and driving new business creation, in conjunction with leadership, from the Sales Director in the region.
5. Accountable for delivering sales, within specified sales region, to meet the overall marginal contribution targets, relating to segment and for maximizing customer margin.
6. Assist in executing a market segment review of the territory to establish, manage, coordinate and execute, in line with targets set by Sales Management, the BU Managers and VP Marketing.
7. Demonstrate technical understanding of product applications, markets and market segment trends, as well as the competitive situation in the territories and master region.
8. Responsible for establishing, managing, coordinating and executing the sales budget with defined forecasts and targets set, in cooperation and agreement with the Sales Director.
9. Accountable for monitoring account performance against business plan targets and work with Sales Director to take corrective action when necessary.
10. Support sales channel management, including direct sales, distributors and agents.
11. Participate at regional tradeshows and coordinate customer meetings and entertainment at these events.
12. Maintain spending within approved fixed cost budget.
13. Submit contracts for Sales Director review.
14. Recommend pricing based on competitive environment and customer payment terms and credit limits, within Credit Policy.
Candidate Profile:
1. BSc in Chemical Engineering or equivalent university.
2. 5+ years of sales experience within the specialty chemicals sector.
3. Experience in the field of Coatings, Adhesives, PU Elastomers or Bioplastics preferred.
4. Comfort in front of customers and prospects.
5. Strong commercial, strategic, and marketing mindset and toolbox.
6. Effective sales experience including excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
7. Cross-functional relationship skills.
8. Resilient, resourceful, optimistic and energetic.
9. Use of Salesforce, or similar, as a CRM system would also be a benefit.
