Behavior Counselor Wanted – Part Time positions available

Position Overview: As a Behavior Counselor, you’ll work directly with children, using fun activities and positive reinforcement to help them learn new skills and reduce challenging behaviors. You’ll follow a personalized plan created by a supervising expert, and you’ll keep track of the child’s progress. Your observations and data will help the team adjust the plan to best support the child’s growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Direct ABA Therapy: Deliver personalized ABA therapy to clients, implementing instructional targets and treatment plans.
2. Data Collection and Reporting: Gather behavior data to evaluate treatment effectiveness, track progress, and document services.
3. Collaboration: Work with co-workers, related service providers, and families to ensure consistent treatment delivery.
4. Documentation: Maintain detailed Daily Progress Notes, summarizing activities and data collected during sessions.
5. Progress Summarization: Update and summarize clients’ behavior, skill deficits, strengths, and treatment plan progress quarterly.
6. Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training, treatment team meetings, and weekly supervision sessions.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school diploma is required. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Major in a human services field (Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field) is preferred.
2. Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
3. Previous experience (or willingness to learn) working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
4. Experience with ABA teaching techniques and autism spectrum disorders preferred, but not necessary.
5. Strong analytical and communication skills.
6. Valid driver’s license, vehicle, and current insurance.
7. Successful completion of pre-employment background investigations, including State and FBI criminal background checks and Child Protective Services criminal background check.
8. Current CPR and First Aid certification and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification preferred.
