Position: Associate Solicitor – Private Client Team Location: Preston, North West England Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid working arrangements may be available About the Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced Associate Solicitor to join a growing Private Client team. The role involves providing expert legal advice on IHT and estate planning, wills, trusts, and probate matters, while maintaining a sustainable work-life balance. Key Responsibilities: Advise on a wide range of Private Client matters, including wills, IHT and estate planning, trusts drafting and administration, probate, administration of estates and lasting powers of attorney Contribute to the development and implementation of the departmental strategic plan to drive business growth Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, referrers and stakeholders Participate in business development activities, including presentations, training events, articles/newsletters and submissions to Chambers & Legal 500 Support the Head of Department, Partners and other advisors on cases Manage, supervise, train, coach and mentor Solicitors & Paralegals Ensure compliance with internal and external business requirements, including ISO:9001 quality control and SRA Principles/Code of Conduct Monitor and report on financial and business performance Contribute to internal continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing Collaborate with other departments on joint files, projects and events Skills and Experience Required: Experience: Qualified Solicitor (or CILEX equivalent) with at least 5 years’ PQE within a Private Client department, ideally as an Associate or Senior Associate Expert knowledge of the Private Client sector Experience advising on complex/high net worth Private Client matters, particularly Wills and Trusts Proven experience handling large projects and business development activities Skills: Excellent client care skills and the ability to provide professional and competent legal advice Strong presentation and client handling skills Good knowledge of IT systems, including Word, Outlook and case management systems Excellent organisational and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team High level of professionalism and ethical standards Ability to supervise, manage, motivate and inspire others Driving licence and access to a vehicle (reasonable adjustments can be made for disabilities) Benefits: 33 days annual leave, including bank holidays Annual leave purchase scheme Celebration leave Ongoing professional development and progression opportunities Company pension and profit share scheme Long service awards Subsidised tuck shops Health care benefits, including Health Cash Back Plan and Mental Health Counselling Services BUPA for Solicitor positions Retailer and gym membership discounts Recruitment and legal department referrals Annual events and social committee activities How to Apply?
