The Role
Based within Cheshire West and Chester Drug and Alcohol Service, this Bank Peer Support Worker role will support adults within the area to achieve their recovery journey goals, via 1:1s and structured groupwork packages.
You will have a lived experience of substance misuse and possess OCNLR Level 2 Award in Peer Mentoring or equivalent. Or the ability and commitment to complete this within 1 year of employment.
The role will involve:
• delivering excellent drug and alcohol services to those who use our services and their significant others, including family members friends and carers, to facilitate positive outcomes.
• deliver support in a 1-1 and group setting.
• working collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholder across multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring adherence with all Via policies and Safeguarding principles.
• any other ad-hoc tasks as allocated by the Peer Support Practitioner or Team Leader.
The Service
Via is a charity dedicated to the belief that we can make a difference to lives of those who use our services, offering peer mentoring support and respect in a safe environment, treating each person as an individual and working with them to find the right support options.
Via is an adult treatment and recovery service which offers a range of pharmacological and psycho-social interventions to the Cheshire West & Chester community who are experiencing issues with drugs and alcohol use. Peer Mentor Team delivers support to those who have completed their structured treatment and those who could benefit from additional support during their recovery journey.
Location
Cheshire West and Chester, with Hub and coverage to be agreed with the successful candidate.
