Key Responsibilities:
The Head of IT is responsible for helping the organisation deliver the strategy to grow its impact for vulnerable children through defining, selling and delivering technology solutions to meet the business needs. With strong customer focus, this role will seek to support the ongoing transformation of the organisation as well as provide the governance, assurance and security required to run an effective IT department.
Relationships and stakeholder management are critical to success whether its managing helix teams of IT and cross-functional internal staff and external partners, or maximising our relationship with suppliers or our international colleagues. The role will be responsible for working with these stakeholders to manage the existing IT environment and future technology strategy.
This role is ideal for experienced IT leaders and managers who want to be part of a cause-led organisation or for those looking to develop their leadership journey and take the next step in developing organisation-wide technology strategy. You will have worked in a similar role, with experience of managing budgets and projects, including delivering major IT and infrastructure projects. This includes being able to adapt quickly to new technology and organisational changes.
Essential Criteria
1. Degree level or equivalent level of thinking demonstrated through experience.
2. Excellent knowledge of the technical challenges of implementing systems and an understanding of the cultural challenges (both in terms of senior buy-in and user adoption).
3. Significant experience of implementing technology solutions (within an NGO context would be useful but not essential).
4. Comfortable working and communicating with people at various levels of the organisation with varying levels of technical knowledge.
5. Significant experience in preparing proposals for senior leadership, including presenting these proposals where necessary.
6. Able to work as part of a cross-organisational team, and at times autonomously.
7. Excellent organisational skills; flexible, able to multitask and prioritise, able to manage changes in priorities.

Salary: £59,375 per annum + good range of benefits
Contract: Rolling 12 month, Fixed Term Contract
Hours: Full time - 36.5 hours per week. Part time hours considered.
