Right now, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced principal sustainability & climate change consultant to join our team. You’ll be part of our collaborative and growing team across the UK and will help with the development and delivery of a pipeline of exciting and complex projects.

So, what will you be responsible for?
1. Working with client teams to identify opportunities for sustainable design measures and energy and carbon reduction initiatives including hosting project workshops and attending meetings.
2. Coordination of technical disciplines for early and effective incorporation of climate change within EIA.
3. Highlighting the most impactful areas of influencing decision-makers to foster improvement and identifying value drivers.
4. Preparation of high-quality energy, sustainability and climate change reporting to provide advice to clients and project teams and support planning and EIA applications.
5. Effective data management including setting up and maintaining project databases and calculation sheets.
6. Participating in relevant external expert forums to advance and standardise environmental sustainability performance quantification.
7. Training and upskilling junior team members on relevant workstreams and project management activities.
8. Regional business development activities and sales generation.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
9. Hold a relevant degree, BEng (Hons) or BSc (Hons) or equivalent/higher.
10. Background in one, or more, of these areas: environmental planning; EIA; climate change; DCO; town planning; urban planning; urban design; urbanism; placemaking; Masterplanning; or, public realm.
11. Experienced project leader experience in a similar role.
12. Significant working knowledge of environmental impact assessments (EIA), with specific experience delivering sustainability and climate change expertise to Environmental Statements, unlocking new developments for clients.
13. W are also keen to know if you can offer any of these attributes:
14. Hold chartership / membership of relevant technical institution(s) (e.g., RITP, RIBA, EI, IEMA, IEEM etc.).
15. Experience contributing to an EIA on a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIPs) and/or Developments of National Significance (DNSs).
16. Experience in pre-application public consultations and stakeholder engagement.
