SOFEA runs the FareShare South Midlands site, and our drivers are the face of the charity - delivering food to groups and charities all over the region who are helping those most in need. You will meet lots of great people every day, who are all doing wonderful things – making this more than just a normal day job. Your main responsibilities are delivering food to charities, collecting food from local suppliers, and looking after the vans – all whilst maintaining the highest health and safety standards. No experience of working within the food delivery industry is necessary – all training is provided. You’ll work mostly independently but be a part of the wider warehouse team when you’re on site. At SOFEA you will, at times, work with vulnerable young people on site and as drivers’ mates. To help you make the most of this rewarding opportunity, we provide full safeguarding training and can offer additional training if required. We don’t do changing shift patterns – you do the same days and times each week, so you can plan your life without worrying about work changing at the last minute. Holiday cover will be required but that we would give advance notice. This is a manual role and will entail lifting trays into and out of the van for each delivery. Sack barrows are provided to make deliveries easier. Full driving licence required. We care about our people. Wellbeing is at the heart of what SOFEA does to empower young people, and our holistic approach applies to all staff as well – we are here to support every member of our team reach their potential.
