The Role: As a Teaching Assistant at our SEMH School, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs. Your compassionate nature, resilience, and dedication will be instrumental in helping our students overcome challenges and thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students.
* Assist with the implementation of behavior management strategies and interventions.
* Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional assistance with their learning or social-emotional development.
* Foster positive relationships with students, providing encouragement and guidance as they navigate their educational journey.
* Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH needs, is advantageous.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
* Compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
* Willingness to undergo relevant training and development to enhance skills and knowledge.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment.
