We are looking for a motivated, patient-focused pharmacist to join our specialist surgical team. We welcome applications from current Foundation Pharmacists who will gain automatic progression into the band 7 role once defined criteria is achieved. Applicants may be employed directly at Band 7 level if they demonstrate the necessary skills and experience.
The successful candidate will be a pharmacist with excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills to allow them to work effectively as part of our highly regarded clinical team.
This novel post offers structured progression from Foundation to Specialist pharmacist within a supportive clinical and multidisciplinary team. Whilst not exhaustive, this post holder will have the opportunity to develop pharmacy services to general surgery, urology, and obstetrics and gynaecology.
Main duties of the job
1. To support the development, delivery, and evaluation of the clinical pharmacy service to Surgical Services.
2. To participate, with support where appropriate, in Consultant led ward rounds.
3. To develop, deliver, and evaluate training programmes for pharmacy staff and other members of the MDT managing Surgical patients.
4. To actively participate and develop a pharmacy-related Quality Improvement programme within Surgical services.
5. Embark on relevant training to support progression i.e. clinical diploma, independent prescribing.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GPhC Registration
* MPharm Degree (4yrs) or equivalent
* Completed at least Year 1 of Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy/General Pharmacy Practice and studying for completion of year 2
* Independent prescriber
* Member of Royal Pharmaceutical Society
Experience
* Experienced in managing patients in a range of specialties including surgical services
* Minimum of 1yr post registration hospital experience or equivalent clinical experience.
